I’ve only recently started to explore the world of photography, and I’m learning quickly that great photography it’s not as simple as “point and shoot”. In my effort to learn and “grow in my understanding of photography”, I’ve gone to a several websites that offer tutorials for beginners, many of which are quite informative and resourceful. I have to say that I’m quickly becoming very fond of one spot in particular. That is “Digital Photography School” This is NOT an advertisement. I simply want to give credit where it’s due.
I think I have a long way to go before I can say that I shoot at professional level. Time will certainly tell.
So, as I was on a search to figure out HOW I can start taking some really great pictures, I landed on the DPS website. I will not bore you with the details of all that I’ve read and all that I plan to do with my new-found love of taking pitures of absolutely everything I see. I will tell you that I found this word of advice which I believe may be extremely helpful in my quest: “Set Yourself a Photographic Assignment”.
So naturally my next train of thought is “Now what shall I shoot?”
Funny how information just falls in your lap sometimes. I love the internet. I set up my blog and in under an hour I found a 365 Photo Challenge. Do I CARE that it’s November 28th? Not especially. It’s just the motivation I need to get my creative juices flowing. And so, I’ll be maintaining a “Photo Diary”, and my shots will be added to the 365 category.
